Melvin Tennant

  • Bryant Lake Bowl 810 W Lake St Minneapolis, MN, 55408 United States

President & CEO, Meet Minneapolis

Have you ever had trouble convincing friends from other parts of the country to visit you in the Twin Cities? Maybe because they think it's too cold here, or because they guessed it's not exciting, or because they heard 10,000 lakes and assumed everyone who lives here are water-breathing fish hybrid people that only eat kelp. Well, imagine trying to convince tens of thousands of people from all over the world to visit Minneapolis each year. That's the job of Melvin Tennant, President and CEO of Meet Minneapolis, and we'll ask him all about it, as well as where he buys his kelp.

Doors at 6:00 - Show at 7:00 - $12/$10 in advance, with student ID, with Fringe button or for seniors. Buy Tickets Here!

Finnegans Food Drive

The Theater of Public Policy is thrilled to be partnering with Finnegans. Together we’ll drink beer and feed the hungry.

At each show this season, audience members can bring a non-perishable canned good to the Bryant Lake Bowl. In exchange they’ll receive $2 off a Finnegans. PLUS: T2P2 will collect all the donations in a single barrel, and on the night that barrel is filled, everyone in the audience will receive a free Finnegans!

What is the show?

Our interview based show is a powerful medium for exploring issues and bringing them to life using theater. All of the ideas and challenges brought up in this conversation serve as the inspiration for the improvised scenes to follow. The improvisers tasks are not to make light of the issues or mock the players involved. Instead, scenes make the previous conversation come to life with living, breathing characters in the situations described. It’s a show unlike any other.
