Like road construction, the misery of our sports teams is something we Minnesotans have come to accept…and expect. Most seasons end in disappointment, and more than our fair share have reached depths of Shakespearean tragedy. Why do we keep coming back? Is shared heartbreak the ultimate communal experience? We’ll hear tales of woe (and whoa!) from Dawn Mitchell of Fox 9 and Dave Berggren (formerly) of KARE 11, with added insight from Concordia University sport marketing expert Dr. Steve Ross. Maybe we can all celebrate a Twins playoff run while we’re at it. Oh, who are we kidding, they’re gonna lose to the Yankees again…

What is the show?
Described “As if C-SPAN were suddenly swarmed by the cast of SNL,” The Theater of Public Policy has garnered national media attention and fans for its unique blend of serious issues and improv comedy.
Shows open with a lively conversation with a newsmaker or policy wonk.
That conversation inspires a team of Minnesota’s most sharpest improvisers, who create entirely spontaneous sketches based on the interview.
The expert guest(s) then answers questions from the audience.
The show wraps with one last round of improv from the cast.
