The Minnesota Fringe Festival runs from July 31 to August 10 and is the largest nonjurried fringe festival in the United States.
Join us as we explore the history of the Minnesota Fringe! We'll talk with Jeff Larson (current Executive Director of the MN Fringe) and Robin Gillette (Fringe Executive Director 2006-2013). We'll discuss what it's like to put on a festival of this kind, pull out some skeletons from past closets, and hear some favorite memories from the past. All of the stories told will provide inspiration
Tickets are $5 and available at HUGE Theater.
What is the show?
Our interview based show is a powerful medium for exploring issues and bringing them to life using theater. All of the ideas and challenges brought up in this conversation serve as the inspiration for the improvised scenes to follow. The improvisers tasks are not to make light of the issues or mock the players involved. Instead, scenes make the previous conversation come to life with living, breathing characters in the situations described. It’s a show unlike any other.
