One year ago, St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter joined us on The Theater of Public Policy in the early days of his term. Now more than a year and a half in, he’ll join us once again to discuss how the issues he campaigned on are working out in office. We’ll ask him about the city’s new comprehensive plan, city efforts on early childhood education, and what the heck is the deal with trash collection in St. Paul. Seriously, what’s the deal with that? All former Winter Carnival Frost Kings get free admission to this show!
Cast: Tane Danger, Theo Langason, Carmen O’Halloran, Fred Cheng, Heather Meyer, Duck Washington
What is the show?
Described “As if C-SPAN were suddenly swarmed by the cast of SNL,” The Theater of Public Policy has garnered national media attention and fans for its unique blend of serious issues and improv comedy.
Shows open with a lively conversation with a newsmaker or policy wonk.
That conversation inspires a team of Minnesota’s most sharpest improvisers, who create entirely spontaneous sketches based on the interview.
The expert guest(s) then answers questions from the audience.
The show wraps with one last round of improv from the cast.
