Spring Season: Minneapolis: An Improvised Biography

  • The Bryant Lake Bowl 810 West Lake Street Minneapolis, MN, 55408 United States (map)

With Special Guest:

Tom Weber, Author, Minneapolis: An Urban Biography

In his new book, author and longtime journalist Tom Weber, writes Minneapolis is Minneapolis because of the water. The confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers made this a sacred place for the Dakota people. In the 19th century, those same features attracted industrialists from the east who built logging and milling empires. And like the rivers, Minneapolis continually rises and falls. We will talk with Weber about his intimate new portrait of The Cities of Lakes, and how the people, politics, and identity of this place have changed over the years.
